Fables 2: The cursed stream

This is a story based in the great deserts of the east. A Sheikh of a vast kingdom had lost his way in the deserts. He had nothing but a flask of water. He had been wandering in the vast desert for over three days now yet there was to be found no trace of civilization. All the walking had made him tired & his throat was parched. While walking under the harsh desert sun he came across a small green plant. The plant appeared young & green..but the Sheikh was sure it would die off if not watered. He took out his flask & checked to find that he was down to the very last drop of water. However, the sheikh was very kind & so enchanted by the plants beauty that he watered the plant with the remaining last drop of water. And before his very eyes, the plant transformed into a beautiful woman. The Sheikh fell in love with this lady, as did the woman with the Sheikh. They made love & promised to move the heavens & the earth for each other. However next morning when the lady woke up, she found her lover dead. He had died of dehydration. She wept bitter tears & its said she cried so much that her tears took on the form of a stream.

Moral: The lady had magical properties & she could have saved her love instead of making love to him without thinking of the situation at hand. TIMING MATTERS!!!

Though it is easy to say
“The Love Struck should not lose sense”
it’s quite difficult to follow.

….. Poor Sheikh & the Lady
